This device uses a controller equipped with safety features.
When a hand is inserted into the device, the light curtain detects the intrusion and switches to a safe speed.
In addition, it stops when the actuator is touched.
It is the first single-axis actuator in the industry to have a safety monitoring function for position, speed, and current.
By obtaining TUV functional safety certification and taking a risk assessment, it can be used without a safety fence.

【 Features of this demo: 】
SCON2 and functional safety units are used to promote the functionality and performance of cartesian robots without safety fences.
1. Safety
・Monitors and controls speed, position, and torque to achieve functionality and performance equivalent to collaborative robots.
2. Space saving for equipment
・Since safety fences are no longer necessary, the overall space of the equipment can be reduced.
3. Extends the life of the control system
・Since electromagnetic contactors are no longer necessary, the life of the control system can be extended.
・No safety fence or case is required, making it possible to create space-saving equipment.
・Although other controllers have similar operating modes, they cannot control while monitoring speed, position, and torque; only the SCON2+ Safety Unit can do this.
・Supports a variety of functional safety operating modes.
