Conveyor Transfer Equipment
Equipment Overview
- Equipment for transferring between two conveyors. (6,000 boxes/day)
- Workpieces are transferred between two conveyors that are located in different levels and changed their directions.
Before Improvement

➤ A box packed with cakes is transferred on an inclined roller conveyor to the X direction and stops when it makes contact with a stopper.
❶ The air cylinder [A] moves upward to lift the box.
❷ The air cylinder [B] retracts to draw the box in.
❸ The air cylinder [A] moves down to put the box on the lower level conveyor.
➤ The workpieces move on the inclined conveyor to the next process.
❹ The air cylinder [B] moves forward to push out the fork to prepare for the next operation.
➤ Due to shock at the time of a stop, the box sometimes dropped out, causing a "choco-tei" (a temporary stop).
➤ To recover from a "choco-tei", it takes about 10 minutes for speed adjustment of the air cylinder.
➤ "Choco-tei" occurred about 5 times per day: A total of 50 minutes (10 min. x 5 times)/day was spent for recovery.
Improved Equipment
✪ The air cylinder has been replaced by an ELECYLINDER.
Improvements
✪ Acceleration/speed/deceleration are numerically specified, achieving a smooth and high-speed operations without shock.
✪ "Choco-tei" (a temporary stop) has been eradicated.
✪ The working hours has been reduced by 50 minutes per day.
Recovery time of 50 minutes per day from "choco-tei" (temporary stops) has been eliminated.
✪ Annual saving for labor cost is US $2,400.
US$12 x 50 minutes (10 min. x 5 times) x 240 days = US$2,400.
* (Condition: Labor cost US$12/hr, Annual operation 240 days.) Exchange Rate: 1 (USD) = 100 (Japanese Yen)
